CentTune by Animus Vertex - installation on macOS
====================================================

CentTune comes in three formats for macOS; the installer puts them where your DAW looks for them:

  Audio Unit Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, ...
  VST3 Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, ...
  CLAP         Bitwig Studio, Reaper, ...

All three run natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, macOS 10.15 or newer.

1. Run the installer
--------------------

Double-click CentTune-<version>.pkg and follow it: accept the license agreement, click
Customize if you want to leave out a format, and enter your Mac's password when it asks (the
plug-in folders are shared by all users of the Mac).

The installer is not notarized by Apple yet, so the first time macOS stops it ("cannot be
opened" or "Apple could not verify"). Then:

  - open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about CentTune and
    click "Open Anyway", then open the installer again;
  - or, on macOS 14 and older, Control-click the installer, choose Open, then Open again.

This is needed once, for the installer only. The plug-ins it installs load without any warning.

2. Let your DAW find CentTune
------------------------------

Restart your DAW, or rescan its plug-ins, and load CentTune on a guitar track. In Logic Pro it is
under Audio Units > Animus Vertex. If it does not show up, open Logic Pro > Settings > Plug-in
Manager and click "Reset & Rescan Selection", or restart the Mac.

To update, run the installer of the new version: it replaces the old one.
To uninstall, delete CentTune.component, CentTune.vst3 and CentTune.clap from the folders
Components, VST3 and CLAP in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins (in Finder: Go > Go to Folder...).

If Logic still does not list CentTune
---------------------------------------

Run this in Terminal (Applications > Utilities; it asks for your password) and start Logic again,
or restart the Mac:

  sudo killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar
