Privacy policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
In short
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no ads.
- Every file of this site, fonts included, comes from this site. The pages contact no other service.
- The DropShift plugin checks for updates at most once a day, and checks your license key with Gumroad when you activate it and about once a month after. It sends nothing else about you or your computer.
Who is responsible
This website, animusvertex.com, and the DropShift plugin are made by Piotr Bogus, a private individual in Poland, who is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].
1. Visiting this website
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the technical data any web server needs to deliver it: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, your browser's user agent and the referring page. They are used to deliver the site and to keep it secure, for example against attacks, which is my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as my processor; it may process data in the United States and takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The interactive DropShift preview plays audio files from this site; what you do in it is not recorded or sent anywhere.
The store at store.animusvertex.com is not part of this site: it is run by Gumroad, Inc. on my domain, and Gumroad sets its own cookies there under its privacy policy (section 3).
2. Email
If you write to me, I use your email address and what you write to answer you and, if it leads to working together, to prepare and carry out that work (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or because answering is my legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Emails are stored by my email service provider. I keep correspondence for as long as needed for that purpose, and longer only where the law requires it, for example for a purchase.
3. Buying DropShift
Purchases are made through Gumroad, Inc., which processes the payment and the billing data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. I receive from Gumroad what it shares with sellers about a sale, such as your email address, name, country and license key, and use it to deliver your license, to support you and to meet my accounting and tax obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).
4. The DropShift plugin
- Update check. When the plugin window opens, at most once a day, DropShift downloads a small file,
animusvertex.com/downloads/versions.json, to see whether a newer version is out. This is an ordinary web request: like a page visit, it reaches Cloudflare with your IP address (section 1). The plugin sends nothing else: no license key, no system information, no usage data. The answer is kept on your computer. - License key. When you activate DropShift, it sends the key you entered to Gumroad's license service (
api.gumroad.com), which confirms that it belongs to a DropShift purchase that was not refunded or charged back, and counts the activation, so that one license covers up to 3 computers. About once a month the plugin sends the key again to confirm it, without counting; without a connection it keeps working. The request carries the key, the product's ID and the plugin's version, and reaches Gumroad with your IP address; it contains nothing else about you or your computer. This is needed to deliver the license you bought (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Gumroad processes it as described in section 3. The key itself is stored on your computer, in the plugin's settings folder, together with the date of the last confirmation. - Your audio is processed on your computer and never leaves it.
5. Links to other sites
This site links to GitHub, LinkedIn and Gumroad. Nothing is loaded from them until you follow a link; from then on, their privacy policies apply.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (uodo.gov.pl). Your data is not used for automated decisions or profiling.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
